Fresubin 2 kcal HP 500ml:@@: An unflavoured liquid containing protein (milk), fat (rapeseed oil, sunflower oil, MCT and fish oil), carbohydrate  (glucose syrup), vitamins, minerals and trace elements.

PRESENTATION

Nutritionally complete high energy (2kcal/ml),  high protein tube feed, fibre free. High in monounsaturated fatty acids, with MCT, with fish oil. Low in sodium. Ready to use. Presented in a 500ml EasyBag. Free from gluten and lactose. 

CONTRA-INDICATIONS 

FOR ENTERAL USE ONLY. NOT SUITABLE WHERE ENTERAL NUTRITION IS NOT PERMITTED. NOT SUITABLE FOR INFANTS UNDER ONE YEAR OF AGE. NOT SUITABLE FOR PATIENTS WITH GALACTOSAEMIA. 

PRECAUTIONS 

SHOULD ONLY BE USED UNDER MEDICAL SUPERVISION. USE WITH CAUTION FOR CHILDREN UNDER 6 YEARS OF AGE. DO NOT MIX WITH DRUGS. ENSURE ADEQUATE FLUID AND ELECTROLYTE INTAKE. MONITOR FEEDING RATE. 

INDICATIONS FOR USE 

For the dietary management of patients with at or at risk of disease related malnutrition, in particular with increased energy and protein needs and/or fluid restrictions. Fresubin 2kcal HP is a Food for Special Medical Purposes. Fresubin 2kcal HP is prescribable on FP10/GP10 for the following indications: For the dietary management of disease related malnutrition, short bowel syndrome, intractable malabsorption, pre-operative preparation of malnourished patients, dysphagia proven inflammatory bowel disease, following total gastrectomy, bowel fistula. 

DOSAGE 

Dosage should be calculated by a clinician or dietitian according to individual requirements. As a guide: Recommendation for complete nutrition ≥ 750ml/day (1500kcals) which meets the average adult recommended daily requirements for vitamins and trace elements (Dietary Reference values for Food, Energy, and Nutrients for the United Kingdom, DH 1991).*  *Excluding electrolytes 

STORAGE 

Store in a cool place, do not store above 25°C. away from direct sunlight. Once opened, the maximum hanging time is 24 hours, discard any unused contents after 24 hours. 

SHELF-LIFE 

12 months from date of manufacture.
