Fortisip 2kcal is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision. Fortisip 2kcal is a high energy (2.0kcal/ml), high protein (20g protein/200ml bottle), nutritionally complete, ready to drink, milkshake style nutritional supplement, for the dietary management of disease related malnutrition. Fortisip 2kcal can be used to supplement the diet of patients unable to meet their nutritional requirements from other foods, or as a sole source of nutrition. Fortisip 2kcal contains 50% of the RNI for vitamins and minerals in one bottle*

Fortisip 2kcal provides:
- High energy - 400kcal per bottle
- High protein* - 20g protein per bottle
- Daily vitamin and mineral requirements in 2 bottle per day†
- 10μg Vitamin D per bottle
Vitamin D deficiency is prevalent in patients at risk of malnutrition, particularly older, hospitalised and/or institutionalised adults¹. Fortisip 2kcal provides the recommended 10μg of Vitamin D per day² in one bottle.

† RNI for males 50+ years used as a comparator (excluding Na, K, Cl, Mg and Zn)
Shelf life: 12 months. Best before date: see side of bottle.
Storage: Store in a dry, cool place (5-25°C). Shake well before use. Once opened, close the bottle and store in a refrigerator for a maximum of 24 hours.
Suitability: This product may be suitable for a Kosher or Halal diet, however at this point it does not have Kosher approval or Halal certification.
Preparation: Fortisip 2kcal is ready to drink and is best served chilled. Shake well before opening.

Must be used under medical supervision. Suitable as a sole source of nutrition. Use with caution in children aged 3-6 years.
Indiation: For enteral use only. ACBS approved, prescribable on form FP10 (GP10 in Scotland) for the following indications: short bowel syndrome; intractable malabsorption; pre-operative preparation of undernourished patients; inflammatory bowel disease; total gastrectomy; CAPD; haemodialysis; bowel fistulae; disease related malnutrition.
Contra-indication: Not suitable for children under 3 years of age. Not suitable for patients with galactosaemia.
