Nutilis Food Thickener Powder (300 g)

Nutilis is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision. Nutilis is a modified starch instant food and fluid thickener. Nutilis is designed for the dietary management of dysphagia and can be used to modify the texture of both food and fluids.

Nutilis is presented in 300g re-sealable tins. A level scoop holds approximately 3g powder. Also available in 9g sachets.

Directions for use

Nutilis is suitable for thickening hot and cold drinks and for thickening pure?ed foods such as meats, vegetables, sauces, puddings and fruit. Follow directions on the Nutilis label. Nutilis should not be added to boiling liquids as clumping of the product may occur. Allow hot liquids to cool slightly before adding.

Ingredients

Modified maize starch (E1442), maltodextrin, tara gum, xanthan gum, guar gum.

For enteral use only. GMS listed. ACBS approved for the following indication: dysphagia.

Contraindications:

Not for intravenous use. Not suitable for children under 3 years of age.

Precautions:

Nutilis is intended for use as a food and fluid thickener only and is not intended to contribute significantly to nutritional intake.

Storage:

Store in a cool, dry place (5 - 25oC). Once the tin is opened use contents within one month. Replace lid firmly after use. Unfinished drinks should be consumed within 4 hours, or stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Opened sachets should be consumed within 24 hours. Thickened food can be heated, cooled or frozen without any change in consistency.

Two years. Best before date: see sachet or bottom of tin.
