Q/ What is the difference between; KN95-N95-FFP2?

There are small differences between each type and essentially, all three are certified to carry out the same function to the same standard. All three masks are designed, manufactured and tested to the same standards and offer the same level of protection, irrespective of model.

KN95 – these products are primarily produced in China and are intended for the China market.
N95 – these products are primarily produced in USA and are intended for the American market.
FFP2 – these products are primarily produced in China and are intended for the European market.

Q/ Does this face mask have a valve? 

The KN95-Respiratory Protective Face Mask (1) (FFP2) does not have a valve. 

Q/ Is a face mask with a Valve better than a face mask without a Valve? 

A valved face mask allows the wearer to exhale air more easily and therefore are typically more comfortable to wear and are predominantly used within the construction industry. This said, valved face masks only offer ONE-WAY protection whereas unvalved face masks offer TWO-WAY protection. With Valved face masks, the wearer's exhalation of air is not filtered whereas with unvalved face masks it is which can assist with providing additional protection to those around the wearer which is particularly important in respect to Covid-19. Unvalved face masks can help reduce the risk to those around you and for this reason many medical institutions prefer not to use valved face masks in certain settings. 

Q/ I am worried about fake 'China' masks, should I be? 

In our opinion, there is no guarantee that a China KN95 face mask is produced equally unless the correct certificates have been issued and verified which will validate the mask/respirator as being a true KN95. At NutriDrinks, we have gone through extensive regulatory validation checks to ensure that the product being sold is correct and fit for use as per the manufacturing guidelines of KN95. We have also verified that the factory is a registered business who has been manufacturing PPE equipment for the local Chinese market for many years and has all the necessary certifications and processes in place to carry out this manufacturing process. 

Q/ Is this product therefore manufactured in China?

Yes. This product is manufactured in China.

Q/ As it is manufactured in China, how can I be confident of the quality?

The mask is manufactured to EN149:2001+A1:2009 regulation and is tested and approved for use against this regulation in China. FFP2 masks are also manufactured to this standard but are thereafter tested for compliance in Europe.

Q/ Has this product not been independently tested in Europe? 

The mask has been sold to various businesses who have their own requirements to laboratory test the product before selling onwards. We have been informed by these partners that the face mask supplied has passed the laboratory testing and is fit for purpose for their clients. 

Q/ Is the manufacturing factory registered and licensed to make these products?

Yes. The factory is ISO 13485:2016 compliant.

Q/ Has NutriDrinks checked the quality of these products?

Yes. Our regulatory team have checked the quality and we can confirm:
- The final product has a valid product test report confirming it’s adherence to EN149:2001+A1:2009 and therefore ensuring the product is genuine in nature.
- The factory is permitted to manufacture these face masks and does so under a valid ISO certification.

Q/ How many layers are there in this respirator?

The KN95 protective face mask consist of 4 layers:
Layer 1: Non-woven fabrics (to filter out the larger particles)
Layer 2: Melt-blown fabrics (to filter our smaller particles)
Layer 3: Melt-blown fabrics (to filter our tiny particles)
Layer 4: Non-woven fabrics (to provide a soft and skin comforting feel)

Q/ Is this KN95 face mask useable?

The KN95 protective face mask can not be re-used (it is a single use product only).

Q/ Can this KN95 face mask be washed?

The KN95 protective face mask can not be re-used.

Q/ For how long can I wear a KN95 face mask?

The KN95 protective face mask can be used until it is damp or dirty. Once the mask is removed, it should not be re-used at all.

Q/ Can the CoronaVirus or any virus survive on the surface of a face mask?

Yes. Depending on the virus itself, viruses can survive on the surface for up to 1 week so therefore, special attention should be given to removing and disposing of face masks and we recommend you do not touch the outside of the face mask once it has been used.

Q/ What is a KN95 protective face mask?

The KN95 respiratory protective face mask are foam-fitted to the size and shape of your face. Therefore, due to this snug fit they can help reduce the chance of you breathing in airborne particles. In addition, there is also evidence to show that the KN95 can help filtrate smaller airborne particular more effectively.

Q/ Does a KN95 offer more protection than a surgical mask?

Technically, Yes. A KN95 protective face mask can filter out up to 95% of tiny particles. (defined as 0.3 micron)

Q/ Which mask is better for me?

The best mask for you will be determined by your requirement for use and your setting. Generally, a surgical mask is effective as filtering out larger airborne particles whereas a KN95 respirator can assist users filter out smaller airborne particles. Before purchasing, you should carefully consider why you require a face mask and which is more appropriate.

How to Wear or Put:@@:How to wear a KN95?

1. Before putting on the mask, wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, or rub your hands together thoroughly with alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

2. Check for defects in the face mask, such as tears or broken loops.

3. Position the coloured side of the mask outward (the white side).

4. If present, make sure the metallic strip is at the top of the mask and positioned against the bridge of your nose.

5. Mould the bendable metallic upper strip to the shape of your nose by pinching and pressing down on it with your fingers.

6. Pull the bottom of the mask over your mouth and chin.

7. Be sure the mask fits snugly.

8. Don’t touch the mask once in position.

9. If the mask gets soiled or damp, replace it with a new one.
