Fortini 1.0 Multi Fibre is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision. Fortini 1.0 Multi Fibre is a nutritionally complete 1kcal/ml ready to drink sip feed, with fibre, for the dietary management of disease related malnutrition in children from one year of age (>8kg in body weight).

It contains 1.5g/100ml Multi Fibre, providing 60% soluble and 40% insoluble fibre. Fortini 1.0 Multi Fibre can be used to supplement the diet of children who are unable to meet their nutritional requirements from other foods, or it is suitable as a sole source of nutrition for children aged 1-6 years or 8-20 kg in body weight (see precautions). Available in 200ml bottles, with a flexible straw attached, in four flavours: strawberry, vanilla, chocolate and banana.

The Nutricia oral nutritional supplements Fortini and Fortini Multi Fibre are specifically designed for young children and are, therefore, the recommended sip feed for children over 1 year.

Colouring agents are not permitted in foods specifically designed for infants and young children under 3 years of age. As the Fortini range are all foods for special medical purposes specifically designed for children, we have not added colouring agents. Note: Fortini Multi Fibre chocolate has a ‘chocolatey’ colour due to natural colouring agents.

Some people prefer to take oral nutritional supplements that have been incorporated into other foods and drinks, either as a change to sipping them or because they find them more palatable. Nutricia oral nutritional supplements for adults and children can both be used to fortify a variety of drinks, savoury and sweet foods, including muffins, macaroni cheese and hot chocolate.

The Fortini range contains some sugars as part of the carbohydrate blend. For patients with diabetes it is recommended that a bottle of Fortini Multi Fibre or Fortini should be sipped slowly over about 20 minutes to minimise sharp rises in blood sugar levels. The total number of bottles of Fortini Multi Fibre or Fortini that should be taken per day should be advised by a dietitian.
