Presentation 

 Altraplen Protein Vanilla (200ml)  is available in 200ml bottles, with a flexible straw attached, in 2 flavours: Strawberry and Vanilla.

Indications

Can be used for the dietary management of patients with increased nutritional requirements as a result of chronic wounds, post surgery or any patient who is at risk of disease related malnutrition as determined by appropriate nutritional screening. It can be used a sole source of nutrition or used to supplement a patient’s dietary intake.

For enteral use only. 

Contraindications

Not for intravenous use.

Not suitable for children under 3 years. 

Not suitable for patients with galactoseamia or an intolerance to soya. 

Precautions

Use of this product in children under 6 years should be closely monitored by a dietitian or physician. Monitor patients protein intake if prescribing >3 bottles per day. 

Directions for use

Altraplen Protein is best served chilled. Shake well before opening.

Nutritionally Complete Volumes for Altraplen Protein

Males 19-50 yrs: 630ml or 3 bottles

Females 19-50 yrs: 545ml or 3 bottles

Males 50+ yrs: 592ml or 3 bottles 

Females 50+ yrs: 600ml or 3 bottles

Nutritionally complete volumes are based on Irish RDA’s/UK DRV’s excluding electrolytes and magnesium.

Storage

Altraplen Protein should be stored in a cool, dry place (below 25 degrees Celsius) 

• Altraplen Protein can be consumed chilled or at room temperature. 
• Shake well before use. 
• Once opened consume within 4 hours or store in a refrigerator and consume within 24 hours. 
• Discard unused contents thereafter.
